INSET Packages

SCIntillate offer comprehensive INSET packages for teachers on Sustainable Development Education, Science, Design Technology and Music. Choose from one of the following options:

INSET Day

These include:

INSET Twilight

This twilight session, for up to 15 teachers, lasts an hour and a half and includes general information on delivering sustainable development education effectively in schools in accordance with The National Framework for Sustainable Schools and A Common Understanding for ESDGC in Wales.

When and where?

Courses are held every half term at various locations throughout Wrexham, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Cheshire and Shropshire. Alternatively, SCIntillate can deliver an INSET day at your school.

Day Courses for Primary Teachers

Courses run from 09:30- 15:30
Course Fee: £60 per teacher (includes refreshments)

Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship (ESDGC)

Are you interested in becoming an Eco School or adopting a greener whole school ethos? This session will show you how to integrate ESDGC within the curriculum (with particular reference to Science, Geography and PSHE) and whole school ethos, as well as offering practical ideas for you to use in school, advice on developing an ESDGC policy and a look at the best resources and funding available to support ESDGC in your school.

The Outdoor Classroom- Developing your school grounds for learning and play

Want to develop your schools grounds but don't know where to start? This session offers advice on the best solutions for your school from vegetable and wildlife gardens to outdoor learning spaces. We'll also provide advice on planning and project management as well as highlighting available funding.

Music Technology

This session looks at the science of sound and music. Learn how to record, download, mix and produce music and sounds. Vibrations, waves, frequencies and pitch are explored through interactive demonstrations and discussion. Discover the technology that's available to make music lessons contemporary and exciting! Find out how to use the computers in your school to make and record music - no formal music training is necessary to create music and sounds as individual as your class!

Science Communication

Want to develop or liven up science schemes of work? This session will equip you with a whole host of hands-on ideas to get pupils (and teachers) excited about science- from renewable energy and climate change to materials and fair testing. Our science communication experts will show you how to make the most of your lessons.
